I wonder if I'm starting to develop an affective relationship with my devices
Breathing is a quality that comes from living things, and is intrinsic to language. They say that if you can talk it's because you can breathe, but what happens when we think about how our laptops and phones breathe? Our devices are talking to us, does that mean they are also breathing with us?
There's an urgency in re-learning to see these ghosts of the future as an entanglement in our ways of thinking and acting. They are part of us, and we are part of them. This piece thinks about how we coexist with our technology through the voice and something that is supposed to be ours alone: breathe. All of this is charged and carried by water, it is the medium that allows this intra-action of voices and non-linear connections.
Water is a postnatural place that allows us humans and machines to speak and breathe together
